The late-breaking program is designed to showcase the most exciting clinical research in a plenary session setting. The emphasis is on major randomized trials and registries that have the potential to influence clinical practice.
In order to be considered late-breaking, the research presented must have been published or posted on a web page (excluding preprint archives) prior to the submission deadline. The research must also have not yet been presented at a national meeting within the United States or accepted for publication at any online or PubMed-indexed venue as of the submission deadline. Additionally, the work must be new and not merely confirmatory or a direct extension of previous studies. If the research is not considered to meet these criteria, it will not be selected for late-breaking presentation and may not appear in informational and promotional materials for the meeting (including the Itinerary Planner) unless special exceptions are made by SfN.
It is important to note that if an abstract has been selected for an oral late-breaking presentation, the presenting author must register for and attend the MSMilan2023 congress. Additionally, all presenters of accepted abstracts are required to submit a photo for inclusion in the Itinerary Planner and Congress mobile app. Each individual is permitted to appear as the presenting author on only one late-breaking abstract.
